PAPER BAGS
A paper bag is a paper bag with a handle, usually made of white or brown paper that is open on one side. It may consist of one or more layers of paper or other flexible material. It is used for packaging , storage , transportation or promotion.
A paper bag is made according to various processes. Automatic production allows the design of inexpensive paper bags. Manual production is used to make high-end paper bags. Depending on the production process, the paper bag can have different handles: twisted , flat , cut, string, satin, polypropylene and even imitation leather.
Paper bags can be manufactured unprinted or with company printing. Depending on the production process, bags will be flexographic, offset, transfer or even screen printed.
The company printed paper bag is designed with light kraft paper (usually between 70g and 90g). The printing process is offset or flexography. This bag model is completely designed by machine. The operator only needs to set the plates and configure the printing machine. Then the operator transports the printed paper reels to the automatic packaging machine.
The handles of homemade paper bags are straight paper handles, twisted paper handles or cotton handles.
Handmade paper bags
They are handmade paper bags generally used by brands or stores for promotional purposes.
The handmade paper bag is printed using an offset process. The paper used is usually between 150gsm and 250gsm and is of higher quality than the paper used for standard printed bags.
Unlike the automatic bag, this paper bag is more luxurious because it is meticulously finished by hand, regardless of the region where it is produced.
Personalized luxury paper bags are mostly found in ready-to-wear boutiques, brands or businesses for corporate or communication purposes.
The most commonly used handles are made from cotton, polypropylene, silk or PVC.
